Dear Family and Friends,

We wanted to share something meaningful that God has been doing in our lives. As many of you know, serving others has always been a central part of who we are. God has allowed us to serve in our careers, in our local church, and on the mission field. Our whole family remains actively involved at Lighthouse Church North County, and Julio continues to serve on staff overseeing Pastoral Care.

In 2019, when Lighthouse Church North County was launched, we stepped away from Reaching the Hungry to help plant and build the new church. After much prayer and sensing God’s timing, we believe the Lord is now leading us back into mission work—something we have missed and deeply love.

We are excited to rejoin Reaching the Hungry (RtH) and feel called to be part of the upcoming mission trip to Costa Rica, as well as to help lead future Mexico trips. We have seen firsthand how God uses these outreaches to change lives, strengthen families, and open doors for the gospel.

More than anything, we deeply value your prayers. Prayer sustains, protects, and guides every mission team we are part of.

For those who feel led, we are also seeking financial support.  If it be a monthly or one-time gift, your contribution will help cover travel expenses, ministry materials, and the outreach resources needed to bless churches, families, and communities. Every gift—large or small—goes directly toward our ministry account at Reaching the Hungry.

We believe God writes every chapter with purpose. We are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve again in Latin America, to share His love beyond our borders, and to help build up the body of Christ wherever He sends us. We invite you to stand with us in prayer and, if God places it on your heart, to partner with us financially.

Thank you for being part of our lives and for supporting what God has called us to do.

With love,
Julio & Fabiola Pérez

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

HISTORY SECTION

Many of you know that our story together began when we were about twelve years old. We met in church, grew up in the same faith community, and from a young age developed a love for ministry. Even though we served in different ministries during our teenage years, God was preparing each of us in meaningful ways. In 2001, when we started dating as young adults, our ministry paths finally came together.

After getting married, our first ministry as a couple was serving in middle school ministry. Since then, ministry has always been central to our lives. Together, we’ve served in youth ministry, worship and music, creative arts, first impressions, connect groups, and large church and community events. Julio currently serves on the pastoral team overseeing Pastoral Care and on the worship team. Fabiola leads on the welcome team and supports the creative team when needed.

Serving God has also shaped our family identity. Both our children serve at Lighthouse Church North County. Our son, Malakhi (19), faithfully serves on the host team, and our daughter, Baysia, serves on the café team and photography team. Watching them grow in their walk with the Lord and in their desire to serve has been one of our greatest blessings.

In our full-time careers, we also have the privilege of serving our community. Julio works as a Senior Victim Services Specialist for the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, advocating for victims of crime. Fabiola serves as an Assistant Director for the CDC Child Development Centers on Camp Pendleton, caring for children from Marine families. We view both roles as extensions of our ministry.

Throughout the years, missions has held a special place in our hearts. We’ve traveled to Mexico multiple times for orphanage and outreach trips, some of which we helped lead. Serving children, families, and pastors has brought us tremendous joy.

ABOUT RTH MISSION TRIPS

Our trips are filled with evangelism, women’s and children’s ministry, construction projects, medical clinics, and discipleship & leadership training.

For instance, in Malawi, many people suffer from disease and poor diet because they lack access to clean water. We install water wells. This clean water makes a dramatic change in their lifestyle and provides the opportunity to introduce the villagers to the living water of Jesus Christ, as we show them the JESUS FILM in their village.  We host eyeglass clinics, lead training classes on shepherd leadership, children's ministry leadership training, women's health, and church planting.

Our trips to the Philippines include community outreaches, distributing care packages door to door, running basketball camps & kids clubs, construction projects, and hosting eyeglass clinics. Our trips to Costa Rica include coming alongside a church to community outreaches, various workshops, children's ministry, and construction projects.

Our trips to Thailand include leading university outreach for local students, organizing rural village outreach, hosting Jesus Film outreaches, assisting soccer ministry and children's ministry, various projects, and teaching workshops.

Our trips to an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, bless the children as we lead worship & Bible story lessons, host medical clinics, organize outdoor games & craft activities, and complete renovation projects!

Our Mexico trips are $50-$175, and our international trips range from $1,600-$3,600.

Donations to RTH are tax-deductible, and 100% will enable Pastor Julio & Fabiola to cover their trip and ministry costs.
